1) Tell us something about yourself that your fans may not know.

A: Fans may not know that I played three sports in high school and until a few years ago I spent most of my time on the athletic field. Music and sports have always been the passions for me and it wasn’t until I graduated from Belmont that I was really able to dedicate all my time to music!

2) You just released your latest single 'long live.' How did you come up with the idea for this record?

A: Long Live is my ode to youth. If you know me as an artist or even just a person you’ll know that youth is a huge part of what I stand for. It has nothing to do with age, occupation, or the season of life you’re in. Youth to me is more just about that innocent and curious spirit that you approach each day with. Being young is a decision, and this song is basically just me proclaiming that I’ll stay forever young. That’s a big reason I wanted Travie on the track too, we’re both in different seasons of our lives but can be united through our youth.

3) What was the inspiration behind 'Long Live?'

A: I was just really just inspired by the world around me. I just feel we lose this sense of wonder as we grow older since we’re “supposed” to act a certain way. So I see these people walking around and I just feel like they’re not happy. They’re not free. They’re not curious. So this song is like come on man let’s just celebrate and be young because we got one life.

4) How has the music scene developed outside of country music in Nashville?

A: It’s been incredible to see the growth of various genres in Nashville even just in my four years living here. Nashville is obviously rooted in country music but has really become a hub for everything! Some of my favorite pop acts live here and there’s also lots of rap, blues, and folk artists out here doing big things. I’m excited to see the city’s continued growth I really think we’re just scratching the surface.

5) What was it like working with Xuitcasecity, Travie McCoy & Cam Meekins?

A: It was amazing working with all of them! Cam was awesome enough to come out and perform at my Exit/In show in Nashville so I got to know him better then and he hit me with some really inspirational and great advice. Xuitcasecity just captured the essence of the song they featured on so well and we’ve stayed in touch. Travie has almost become like a big brother to me, I’ve gotten to be in the studio with him and he came out to my debut show to perform with me as well! I’m super lucky to have come in contact with a guy like him because he’s just the best dude and so talented.

6) If you could only have 1 feature for the rest of your career, who would it be?

A: Wow that’s a big one. Hmm. Right now it’s probably a song with the group Surfaces. I just love their uplifting vibe and feel we align on a lot of things. My answer to that question changes just about every day though.

7) Who is someone who has influenced your musical style?

A: Oh man so many. To pick one I’d say Surfaces again. They’ve influenced a lot of my new wave that I have coming. Forrest (their lead singer) just always comes from the heart and you can feel the authenticity in everything he says and does. I strive to be that person for my fans and in my music.

8) If you could describe your music in two or three words, what would you say?

A: Authentic, uplifting, FIRE lol.

9) What can your fans expect from you in 2020?

A: Fans can expect lots of music and surprises. They can definitely expect a different sound out of me too. I’ve gone through some self-discovery this past year not only sonically but also just with the person I want to be and the legacy I hope to leave. So expect to hear music from ME, the real me, the authentic me and expect some more hip-hop, low-fi vibes, and more. ;)
