ARTIST TO WATCH: Coopex

1) Tell us something about yourself that your fans may not know.

A: Something that my fans may not know is that I'm producing 3 tracks per week & got a lot of big projects coming really soon. A lot of music will be released this year.

2) How did you get into producing & what got you motivated to keep going with it?

A: I've been a big fan of the DJ world since I was a child. 4 years ago I tried using FL Studio and since then I have fallen in love with this software which made me start to produce everyday. This was replacing my video games. My motivation comes from my feelings - If I'm sad I will go to the studio and make sad or powerful tracks. When I'm happy I produce happy tracks. I'm trying to not over produce and just produce when i want to, never because somebody asks me to.

3) Did you ever think you'd make it this far in your career or were there times you thought about giving up?

A: I never thought one day get that I'd achieve everything I have up until today and when I started music it wasn't to get only that. It's for me to share my emotions and my messages through my music. Yes, I have already thought about giving up, but this feeling is created by the pressure of the world, people's judgement, etc. We are easily lost by the emotions, and sometimes it's good to take a break and think about why we started to produce music.

4) How has being from France influenced your production style, if any?

A: It's hard to be a trap/future bass producer here in France and I never get really support here in France.I was forced to get my fan base from around world & most of my listeners come from Germany or the United States. It's always hard for me to get listeners from France but it's coming a bit more than before. My production style is just what my feelings want to create and I can produce every kind of style.

5) How would you describe your style of music?

A: Like I mentioned to you before - my music is just my feelings, my emotions, what I want to say to everybody who's listening me. When I'm angry I can produce trap beats or when I'm more sad I can produce a sad future bass beat or even a more happy track like my last remix with Kuoga.

6) You recently released 'Take Me Down' with Veronica Bravo. How did you come up with the idea for this track?

A: For this track with Veronica I was inspired from a track i listened to on Soundcloud. I don't remember exactly what track because I produced this track like 4 months ago I think. At the time I tried a vocal sample and by the end of it I didn't like it so I asked Veronica if she would be down for a collaboration and she was down right away!

7) What do you do when looking for ideas for a new track?

A: Sometimes I get ideas by listening to music and some inspiration comes, but sometimes I just try something rhythmic or get the bass line and the rest comes really fast. When I get fully inspired, like for example my track come with me, I can fully finish the track in roughly like 4 hours. I know it's fast, but I don't miss any element to a track. I'm just optimizing my music very fast and when I'm so inspired it's easy for me to produce the track!

8) What plans do you have for this year? Where can your fans see you in 2019?

A: This year my plan is to release as much fire stuff as possible with a lot of different talented artists to show different styles of music, mix different vibes, and give lot of music to my fan base. I don't really know if I will be mixing anywhere but I hope to give some shows.

9) When can we expect the next release from you?

A: I'll be releasing 3 tracks in February (the first is on the 7th). It will be a chill, emotional track. I think people can be really hyped for this one and will get a bit of the Khalid and Martin Garrix track vibe.

10) Who is 1 artist you'd love to work with?

A: For me, Flume is the most interesting artist. I really want to work on something with an artist like him so bad. For me he is the God of music!

11) If you could name a song after your favourite food, what would the song be called?

A: Hmmmm... Pizza I think!
