1) Tell us something about yourself that your fans may not know.

A: I have a hairless cat called Draco… wait everyone knows that because I plaster him all over my tiktok haha. A fun fact you might not know about me is that I love acting. I have acted in season 2 of Derry Girls, and worked on Game of Thrones as a Wildling for 8 months. Just call me Barbara Streissand.

2) When did you first decide you wanted to get into the music industry?

A: I have always sang and I have always wanted to be a singer, but i grew up listening to phrases like ‘that’s the hardest industry’ or ‘no one makes it there’ so i used to hide my dreams even though deep down I knew that I was capable of surprising people. I grew up listening to and recreating performances by Tina Turner and Dolly Parton when they sang at outdoor concerts in front of thousands of people. I was completely mesmerised at the thought of being there in the crowd or on the stage. The first time that I really believed in myself was when I got a four chair turn in the Voice UK 2020.

3) How long did it take you to confidently understand the songwriting process?

A: I had written songs when I was younger that I never took seriously, but I was fascinated by country singers and their process of writing. Country songs such as ‘whiskey lullaby’ and ‘Jolene’ always impressed me and shocked me as to how captivating song writing can be. I’ve written songs when I was 16 and 18 that I don't think I will ever release, not because they aren’t good but because they are so personal. I feel like that is why songwriting is so hard because it is so invasive and you really put your heart and soul on the line.

4) What was the experience like participating on The Voice?

A: The voice was overall the most positive and inspiring experience of my life, I don’t think anything could ever match this part of my life as I grew so much and learned so much about myself and what I was capable of in this short space of time. With every performance I got less and less nervous, I really found my feet on the stage and knew that it was the place where I belonged.

5) What's it like working with Meghan Trainor?

A: When picking my coach I had gone in with the intention of going with either WILL.I.AM or with Tom Jones because I thought they would be the most popular and impressive when it came to song selection and experience. However, when Meghan spoke to me my gut went crazy and I had no other option but to listen to it and pick her. Picking Meghan Trainor was the smartest thing that I did throughout the whole competition as I made a life-long friend and an amazing mentor.

6) What was the inspiration behind your latest single 'That's Rich?'

A: I had just come out of a relationship where I felt like I wasn't benefitting at all and I lost who I was. Because of this I wanted to write a song that would make me feel good and laugh. Before I went in to write this song I was reading Debbie Harry’s (Blondie) biography and I really wanted to write a song that incorporated and 80’s sound with contemporary elements. The song really came to life and I feel like as soon as ‘That’s Rich’ starts to play it hits immediately and you think to yourself ‘this sounds familiar but it also sounds so fresh and new!’ We have definitely found a really fresh new sound.
